Dr. Ashley Taylor is a licensed clinical psychologist, educator, and passionate advocate for progressive, nature-based learning. As the founder of Wyldwood Prep, she brings a deep understanding of child development, nervous system regulation, and experiential education to create a school where children thrive through curiosity, exploration, and connection to the natural world.

With over 20 years of experience working with children, families, and educators, Dr. Taylor understands the importance of fostering emotional resilience, creativity, and a love for lifelong learning. Inspired by the principles of forest schooling and progressive education, she envisions Wyldwood Prep as a place where children develop confidence, problem-solving skills, and a deep relationship with the environment. Teachers will serve as mentors and guides while building rewarding relationships with students.

Dr. Taylor has co-authored two books on changing the educational lens and is passionate about supporting both students and teachers in re-connecting with the joy of learning.

In addition to leading Wyldwood Prep, Dr. Taylor owns and operates Wonder Tree Developmental Psychology, a practice specializing in psychological evaluations and trauma-informed care. Her expertise in brain-based approaches, co-regulation, and nervous system regulation and informs Wyldwood Prep’s holistic approach to education, ensuring that each child, and teacher are supported in their unique learning journey.

When she's not guiding Wyldwood Prep, Dr. Taylor enjoys spending time with her family, hiking in the Pacific Northwest, snowboarding, reading about educational philosophy, doing yoga, and dreaming up new ways to help children and families flourish.
